Hudson Dem boss wants "his" money, and he wants it now...

At 48 years old, Mark Smith has applied to start collecting $9,000 a month, for life, from the state's pension system. That's in addition to his current salary of $78,000 as Mayor of Bayonne.

Smith, a former police officer, also chairs the HCDO (aka "the county machine"). Like the party he leads, Smith appears to view taxpayers as his personal ATM.

In related news, the state pension system faces a shortfall of roughly $46 billion.
